A Fully Online Course

Bullying:  An Introduction is the prerequisite class in a five-course series addressing one of the most pervasive and concerning issues facing students, schools and teachers in schools today.  According to the current research, most teachers find bullying hard to accurately identify and are unsure of how to address it, yet it affects our classrooms and school climates and is a factor in student learning and success.  This course (and series) will provide participants an introduction to the research, information, helpful resources and practical strategies to prevent bullying.

  • EDU 737TH/EDU X717A:  Bullying:  An Introduction (3 units) PREREQUISITE for  EDU 737TI/EDU X718A, EDU 737TJ/EDU X719A, EDU 737TK/EDU X720A and EDU X768I
  • EDU 737TI/EDU X718A:   Bullying:  Issues of Gender and Race (2 units) 
  • EDU 737TJ/EDU X719A:   Bullying on the Internet (2 units)
  • EDU 737TK/EDU X720A:  Bullying:  Prevention (2 units) 
  • EDU X768I:  Not In Our School:  Strategies to Address Bullying and Intolerance and Create Safe, Inclusive and Accepting Schools (2 units) 

The University of San Diego's Division of Professional and Continuing Education will award a Bullying Prevention in Our Schools certificate to participants who successfully complete all five courses in this program. Additional non-refundable certificate program application fee applies (see Certificate Information and Requirements).

This course is a scheduled online course led by an instructor. Taking an online class is convenient, fun and allows you to structure your learning to your own learning style. Refund requests will be honored if the request is made before midnight on the fourth day of class. Tuition refunds will be less a $25 processing fee. No refunds and/or transfers will be issued after this deadline for any reason. (This refund policy supersedes the policy listed below.)

Refund Policy
For Scheduled (live) classes, withdrawal and transfer requests should be done online. A full refund will be credited to you if the class has not started. After a class has begun, each request will be handled on an individual basis. Refunds and/or transfer requests will not be processed for any reason after 30 days from the start of class.
