Behavior is one of the least understood and most challenging areas in special education advocacy. This course is designed for parents and professionals who have some basic background in special education law and want to learn more about how to handle behavior issues in the IEP. It will cover assessment models, including the functional analysis assessment and the functional behavior assessment, as well as the differences between a Behavior Support Plan and a Behavior Intervention Plan. Information on discipline rules, writing behavior goals, and services (including AB 2726 mental health services) will be part of the program.
