GOOD NEWS!!  LAST CHANCE ORIENTATION DATES JUST ADDED for Late June.........Please contact Amber Farmer @ (740) 272-0479
Time spent planning and organizing your curriculum and classroom procedures will pay big dividends during the teaching year. This class will give teachers time, motivation and opportunity to design and ready their student-centered curriculum and materials for the coming year. Teachers will prepare a significant addition to their existing classroom in curriculum area(s) of their choosing. Detailed course instructions will be reviewed and distributed at a mandatory orientation meeting held in the spring. Throughout the summer, participants will keep an extensive log of their planning and preparation. To complete the course, teachers will attend a scheduled follow up interview with a university instructor who will examine evidence of work on an individual basis.

Only four simple steps are required:
  • Register online by May 15, 2010 to receive a $10 discount!
  • Attend one MANDATORY orientation session to receive and go over the  coursework.
  • Complete and document a minimum of 75 hours for 3 Semester Unit option and 150 hours for 6 Semester Unit option developing new classroom curricula or working on special projects. The work is to be completed by the end of your summer break. *Note that preparation for your current year or summer school assignment will not be accepted for this class, as the purpose of the class is to prepare for the 2010-2011 school year.
  • Attend an individually scheduled appointment to present and discuss evidence of  your accomplishments privately with an instructor. Your grade will be sent in to USD transcript office on class ending date of August 20, 2010. This will be the  date posted to your official transcript which will be sent to you in early September.

You MUST attend one MANDATORY registration/orientation meetings.
Please bring your personal calendar to select an exit/summation interview in late July or early August. Online registration is highly recommended and will save time, but you MUST still attend one mandatory meeting.

Once you have registered (regardless of date ) changes to your
number of units will not be allowed, so.....
PLEASE MAKE SURE NUMBER OF UNITS IS CORRECT!

This class is also a good time to collaborate with your grade-level or subject matter teaching partners.  If you work closely with someone who could use the time and professional growth units, this is a perfect opportunity!
