Managing Behavior - EDU 595AQ
1.0 Semester Unit
This course will introduce techniques that will help, the young people they come in contact with, develop behavior needed to succeed in a diverse society.
By the end of this course, the participants will have had the opportunity to examine:
- Positive and negative discipline.
- The difference between mistakes and misbehavior stemming from lack of instruction.
- Ways to manage behavior that prevents problems.
- Why students misbehave and strategies for correcting behavior.
- Guidelines for administering consequences for behavior.
Teaching Standards met in this course are:
- Use a variety of instructional strategies and resources to respond to students' diverse needs.
- Establishing a climate that promotes fairness and respect.
- Establishing and maintaining standards for student behavior.
- Modifying instructional plans to adjust for students' needs.
